The Limpkin - this bird is known for its noisy cry which sounds like a loud scream. In Florida, limpkins feed almost exclusively on apple snails but will eat freshwater mussels and other kinds of snails. During times of drought or flooding they may also eat insects, frogs, lizards, crustaceans, and worms. Limpkins can be found around shallow bodies of water.
