While browsing through my files two days ago, I stumbled across some footage of Mohini Dey and I doing a fun duet, which we also then performed live during some shows. Rewatching the what originally was a bass/vocal/drum performance, inspired me to write and orchestrate other instrumentation and music to it. Improvising a bit here as part of my warm up routine, in this case with the purpose of incorporating quintuplet groupings and then modulating them and also playing different feels such as 16th groupings over them, which especially happens more extensively towards the end. Actually pretty hard I think keeping those quintuplets steady while putting a 16th groove on top of them and hopefully making it all still sound tight and with feel 😂. But then again, this here was more practicing rather than

Working on a new song called ‘Click!’. Here’s the ending part being a modulated 6/8, depending on the way you want to feel it. I wrote this part on the guitar as a picking pattern, being a triolic 4 4 4 6 6, but fitting therefore conveniently into two bars of straight 4/4. But most importantly, as geeky as I can sometimes get with this, is always the vibe and emotional message of the song. If there’s a certain vulnerability in the center of the composition, then this will be the entrance for me
