Can you believe these gorgeous faces?! I will never understand how and why these stunning creatures end up discarded on the streets here in Mexico. Lucky for them, being at the Balam Foundation means that they will receive a home and all the love and care they need until they find one together! If you have never had a bonded pair, you haven’t lived! Seriously, they are so fun to watch together and their friendship lasts a lifetime. Reach out to pre- adopt this beautiful bonded pair today! Remember our sweet girl Callie?! She is now a wondrous and magical tripod. After months of trying to help her regain feeling in her left leg, it was determined that she would be better off as a tripod. She has adapted and healed so well and she’s just the sweetest thing. Please consider adopting Callie. She’s magic! Reach out to adopt via our website and remember that most of our cats go to the USA or Canada. Looking forward to hearing from you. Thank you! | Balam Foundation

I am so excited to be introducing this remarkable litter to you. Mama Lemon has proved herself to be an extraordinary mother, loving her 5 perfect babies and accepting one more: Tiny, who is around 2 weeks younger than his siblings…but he has no clue he’s different in any way. Mama Lemon was abandoned with her babies until we came along and saved them. Over the next week we will be showing off this litter as bonded pairs. Each kitten has made it very clear who they have chosen as their bestie. I

I have a secret to share: I love tripods! They’re so resilient and just get right back on their feet again. Marmelade was found at the side of the road with a severe fracture, after being hit by a car and left for dead. Luckily, he was found by a Good Samaritan who picked him up and reached out to us. I never turn injured animals away, even if we don’t have space, and even if I am concerned about finances. Alleviating suffering comes first. Marmelade will have his surgery and I have no doubt, he

I love Alice so much. She’s such a trooper. I spent last night rocking her like a baby until I had to go to sleep myself. We are still not out of the woods yet. Alice has lost a lot of weight and she’s weak. We are still doing everything we can to make sure she doesn’t relapse into an infection again. Continued love and light for us all here, is always welcome. Lord knows we need it. Thanks everyone who has helped support Alice so far. She’s a lover. She deserves a home and a family forever. | B

International road-tripping with 7 cats is not for the faint of heart! Early yesterday morning, we set off on a road trip that will take us from our headquarters in central Mexico to @eaglevalleyhumane in Colorado. You may recall I made a video on the anniversary of Balam’s death, to share that we urgently had to move cats to make space for kitten season. We are currently on our way, despite many warnings of the dangers of this long drive, in the efforts to place our rescues responsibly. We woul

Meet Jezebel- our cross-eyed wonder - who is looking for her forever human. She is everything a Siamese cat is and more, with a dash of tortie spice. Jezebel is wonderful with people and will boss you around and keep you on your toes. She is one of the most unique looking cats I have ever seen! In Mexico, she has no value and won’t be adopted locally. Please fill out an adoption application on our website to get the process started! Link in bio! We adopt to the USA and Canada!
