Deep, intense, compressive massages don’t provide lasting pain relief over a few days. Some people love to ask their massage therapists to push harder, but when I ask how much relief they have after 3 days have gone by, they’ll answer, “0%.” We have a patient who is driving up 5 hours each way from Virginia. After the first treatment, he was 10-20% better after 7 days had gone by. He had an appointment scheduled with his massage therapist and told him that he’s finally getting permanent relief.
