I found these old clips of Keiko from 1999 and put them together to make this video. In this video you can see Keiko at the Oregon Coast Aquarium. This 2 million gallon habitat served as Keiko’s rehabilitation tank. Keiko was released into the wild in his home waters of Iceland in the summer of 2002, but passed away in December of 2003. For 11 years, Keiko couldn't dive entirely at the tank in Reino Aventura and he could barely breach. In Oregon, he could properly dive and throw his entire body out of the water. In Iceland, he could feel the natural tides of the ocean where he was captured, and finally, in Norway, he was free to come and go as he pleased.
