Aug 3, 2009 · Marcia in MT. We use sulfur. Our soil and water are alkaline, due to the dry climate and past glaciation. Lowering the pH makes nutrients more available to plants, and vegetables and certain flowers really show a difference in their growing. We use pelletized sulfur, from a company called Plant Tone. They also make other, "natural" amendments.

Jul 16, 2024 · 1 cup milk. 1 tablespoon butter. 1 green or red bell pepper, finely diced. salt to taste. Heat oil, sauté onions and garlic over low heat until soft and golden. Add corn kernels, water, red pepper flakes, and thyme. Simmer about 5 minutes. With a slotted spoon, place solid ingredients in blender and purée.

I had my plants on shelves and wrapped the shelf in bubble wrap and styrofoam insulation pieces. You could do something similar if you have beds in your greenhouse, by putting up a low tunnel using bubble wrap and wire hoops.

Jul 18, 2007 · Place jars in hot pan, or sink, of hot water. In separate pot, heat plain water to boiling and pour over peppers. Let stand a few minutes, then pour off water. Add the 1/2 tsp salt, 1/2 tbsp oil, 2 tsp pickling spice, and dash turmeric to each jar. Pour sugar and vinegar solution over peppers. Seal jars, and let cool.

Feb 17, 2012 · Now they only get kiwi peel, banana peel, and excess berries I make my smoothies out of plus a little red bell pepper or some pole beans or snap peas from the birds' veggie mix. Also my rabbits get unlimited hay, branches, raspberry canes (stuff has gone wild and surrounds 3/4ths of the property), and other high fiber foods with minimal pellets.

Aug 3, 2021 · To those who think habanero pepper is hot, you ought to try ghost pepper and Carolina reaper pepper. I dry them in a dehydrator then crush them in a ziplock bag. Then I pulverize them in a coffee mill. It makes a really great (hot) powder that I put in a salt shaker. I sprinkle it on cheese toast, pizza, or whatever.
