The Hendersonville Police Department is a nationally accredited law enforcement agency proudly serving the City of Hendersonville since 1847. The department is divided into three bureaus, each supervised by a Captain:

Hendersonville PD has used LeadsOnline since 2008 and has reported many successes using the system. Using LeadsOnline, police have recovered thousands of dollars in stolen property for the City of Hendersonville and surrounding residents.

Hendersonville Police Department developed a strategic plan for 2022-2025 that contains the department's vision, mission, values and four primary focus areas and strategies to continue and improve the excellent services provided by the department.

The Hendersonville Police Department was formed in 1880; 33 years after the City's incorporation in 1847. The first law enforcement officers were known as "Town Marshalls" and mostly they served the town alone. Starting in 1900, the City changed the title to Chief of Police.
