Audience losses are compounding for public radio news stations
Jul 22, 2024 · Audience analyst Dave Sullivan has been trying to “sound the alarm” about public radio’s declining cume ratings, a key metric for station fundraising and sustainability. The average weekly cume for news stations had been relatively stable, hovering around 12 million from 2016 until 2020, when it slipped to 10.8 million.
