Texans' Thursday injury report: Four Texans starters miss practice for a second time
The Houston Texans have back their top two wide receivers following Sunday's win over the San Francisco 49ers.
The Texans knew when the practice week began they wouldn’t have quarterback C.J. Stroud (concussion) or kicker Fa’imi Fairbairn (quad) for Sunday’s game against the Jaguars. They also won’t have right tackle Tytus Howard (concussion),
Howard entered the league's concussion protocol during the Texans ' Week 9 loss to the Broncos. He was unable to practice all week before being ruled out for Sunday's AFC South clash, so Blake Fisher will likely start at right tackle in Howard's absence.
The Houston Texans astonishingly overcame the absence of quarterback C.J. Stroud and several other key starters to beat the Jacksonville Jaguars 36-29 on Sunday afternoon. The winning effort brings Houston to 4-5 on the year and their slim hopes to make the postseason alive.
Down by 19 entering the fourth quarter Sunday against Jacksonville, the Houston Texans looked to be headed for another tough loss.
That includes quarterback C.J. Stroud, right tackle Tytus Howard and nickel Jalen Pitre due to concussions with all three remaining in the NFL protocol Friday morning, along with kicker Ka’imi Fairbairn due to a quadriceps injury and right guard Ed Ingram with a knee injury.
