The two Phoenix Police officers who were seen on body cam hitting a deaf disabled man back in August have been placed on paid administrative leave.

City leaders are responding to allegations that Phoenix Police officers used excessive force while arresting Tyron McAlpin, who is deaf.

Tyron McAlpin, a black man who is deaf and has cerebral palsy, was acquitted of all charges against him following the release of body cam footage on Thursday, where two Phoenix cops can be seen punchi

The man, Tyron Scott McAlpin, who also has cerebral palsy, was repeatedly punched and shocked with a Taser by the police during an arrest in August. The arrest is under investigation.

The announcement comes after police body camera video of Tyron McAlpin's violent arrest became public and sparked outcry.

All charges faced by a deaf Black man with cerebral palsy who was caught on camera being punched and Tasered by Phoenix police officers will be dropped.
