TEA is investigating the more than 210 teachers across the state who allegedly obtained fraudulent certification through a cheating ring.

More than a month after five people were indicted in a scheme to help secure positions in Texas schools for unqualified teachers. The Texas Education Agency released the first batch of more than 100 teachers under investigation.

TEXAS, USA — Four East Texas schools were cited in a Texas Education Agency investigation related to a statewide teacher certification cheating scandal, which led to unqualified teachers in classrooms across the state.

Eight teachers from Southeast Texas area school districts including Port Arthur, Beaumont and Hardin-Jefferson ISD are being investigated.
