Lower Decks will soon be calling it a day, the story of the Cerritos' crew continues on in an all-new comic book series from IDW.

OUR TAKE Lower Decks continues careening towards the end of its run, though this week we get one of the most fun episodes this season, and probably the most fun so far! It’s another girls trip episodes,

Starbases are supposed to be a home away from home for starship crews, a sanctuary where they can take a time-out in Starfleet-approved surroundings. Starbase 80 is different, a space station so riven with neglect that many officers believe it's cursed.

"Of Gods and Angles" may be the most representative episode title of "Lower Decks"' fifth season. Not only do the Cerritos crew cross paths with "Star Trek"'s answer to a deity, they also have to broker peace negotiations between two geometrically opposed alien races.

Fully Dilated, fully everything. This week's episode was beyond a doubt the highlight of the season so far. Temporal shenanigans are often a sure-fire success, but Lower Decks isn't one to rest on the laurels of relativity. Besides, laurels were sooo last week.

Lower Decks continues to send up Star Trek history with a classic kind of away mission and a creative guest appearance from a TNG legend.

In "Lower Decks" season 5 episode 7, "Fully Dilated", Captain Freeman and her crew encounter a purple version of the USS Enterprise-D — and there are much bigger questions to answer than whether the carpets match the hull.
