A highly anticipated women's basketball matchup between No. 2 South Carolina and No. 5 LSU, planned for Thursday, will be postponed to Friday because of a winter storm, the Southeastern Conference announced Wednesday.

The Southeastern Conference has postponed Thursday night's women's basketball game between No. 5 LSU and No. 2 South Carolina in Columbia, South Carolina, until Friday because of winter weather. The decision comes a day after Winter Storm Enzo dropped about a foot of snow in parts of south Louisiana and made travel hazardous in subtropical communities that possess little in the way of snow-clearing equipment for roads and airports.

A big matchup in women's college basketball has been moved back a day due to the Gulf Coast storm. The No. 2 South Carolina Gamecocks were set to host No. 5 LSU on Thursday, but due to travel issues for the Tigers the game will now tip off Friday night at Colonial Life Arena in Columbia, S.C.
