The Mumbai Police apprehended a man who allegedly stabbed actor Saif Ali Khan at his residence in Mumbai on January 16. The arrest took place early on Sunday, January 19, 2025, in Thane, Maharashtra.

The accused's real name is Mohammed Aalian alias BJ. Fearing capture, he had been using the pseudonym Vijay Das.

Mumbai Police have arrested Vijay Das, also known as Bijoy Das and Mohammed Iliyas, for stabbing Bollywood actor Saif Ali Khan at his Bandra residence. Das was apprehended on a train in Chhattisgarh following a manhunt.

A part of the knife, allegedly used in the stabbing attack on actor Saif Ali Khan, has been recovered from his Bandra residence, the Mumbai Police said on Saturday. The attack, which took place earlier this week, left the actor with serious injuries.

Saif Ali Khan, who is currently in the hospital, was stabbed multiple times in the intervening night on Wednesday and Thursday this week. He sustained six injuries, including one near the spine. The actor had to undergo an emergency surgery. Doctors say he is “out of danger". He may be discharged from the hospital by Monday.
