More Rite Aid pharmacies nationwide — including dozens in Oregon and Washington — are on the chopping block. The Philadelphia-based pharmacy and retail chain has filed for Chapter 11 bankruptcy twice in two years, and the list of stores it intends to close this time around continues to grow.

Rite Aid said it was arranging for payment of wages and other costs as usual, though some "underperforming" stores among its more than 2,100 pharmacies in 17 states will be closed.

Bankrupt pharmacy chain Rite Aid revealed a number of new store closings this week in a court filing, bringing the total to almost 500.
