The Notre Dame women's basketball team got a rude awakening during the Cayman Islands Classic over Thanksgiving weekend. It's hard to know if the tropical setting affected the Irish, but what is known is that the Irish won't just cruise to a national championship.

The No. 3 Fighting Irish were upset again in the Cayman Islands Classic, this time by unranked Utah 78-67. After leading 37-32 at the half, the Irish (5-2) went 0-9 from the floor to start the third quarter. Meanwhile, the Utes (6-2) scored 46 points in the second half to notch the upset.

Three big runs for the Utes sparked an upset. Notre Dame led 13-4 four minutes into the game, but over the next four minutes, Utah outscored the Fighting Irish 15-3 to move ahead 19-16. The Utes led 19-18 after one quarter.
