The Connecticut Sun could soon rise over Boston if a purported deal goes through, but Gov. Dan McKee isn’t ready to walk off the court just yet when it comes to potentially hosting the Women’s National Basketball Association (WNBA) team.

The Mohegan Tribe purchased the team in 2003, known then as the Orlando Miracle, and became the first owners of a WNBA team outside NBA owners. Rizzotti had positive things to say about the Mohegan Tribe, noting they've "tried to do what's best for not just this team, but for the league as a whole."

Sun president Jennifer Rizzotti said the team plans to play at Mohegan Sun Arena in 2026 after a deal was reached for a Boston-based group to buy the franchise and relocate it in '27.
