Manchester United have reached an agreement to sign Sporting CP winger Geovany Quenda at the end of the season, according to reports in Portugal. United are on the brink of completing their first signing of the January transfer window with Patrick Dorgu set to arrive in a €35 million (£29.2m) deal from Lecce.

Ruben Amorim has said Manchester United are “a better team” with Marcus Rashford and that they need to score more goals. The England international has missed 11 straight games since being left out of the team for the victory over Manchester City on December 15.

A deal for either club could prove costly, however, with other reports suggesting that Dortmund could demand a fee of between €70m-80m (£58-66m) for their prized asset. Kobel has made 143 appearances in all competitions since joining Dortmund from Stuttgart back in 2021, while twice being named in the Bundesliga Team of the Season.
