A volcano on the Reykjanes peninsula in Iceland flared again late Wednesday night, marking the region's seventh eruption in just one year. Lava burst from a crack in the ground before midnight local time,

Though the eruption is “significantly smaller” than the last eruption, experts said the latest volcanic activity can still “cause problems.”

Drone photographer Jeroen Van Nieuwenhove flew over the fissure caused by the volcano in the early hours of 21 November, filming the lava flow, which, according to the Icelandic Meteorological Office (IMO), covered at least 7 square kilometres. The IMO has raised hazard levels, but activity has since reduced.
