A judge in Chile has agreed to suspend proceedings against a teenage American pilot and social media influencer who has been stuck on a remote Antarctic island since late June after he was accused of landing there without permission.

Ethan Guo, a content creator, said that he has been effectively trapped at a Chilean base since June. The authorities had said he landed there without permission.

Guo's attorney said the pilot received "explicit, direct permission" to land at a Chilean base.
