Three people have been taken to hospital and several households have been evacuated after a gas explosion near Bristol. A house on Lancaster Road in Yate was set alight by the blast on Tuesday morning. The property had been burnt almost completely to the ground by the time Avon Fire and Rescue arrived at the scene.

The fire in Yate, near Bristol, has almost burnt the house to the ground, as it's understood nearby residents have been evacuated.

Three people have been hospitalised and as many as 40 more have been evacuated after a suspected gas explosion ripped through a home near Bristol. The house in Yate was burnt almost completely to the ground during a fire which broke out following the blast earlier this morning.
