Hurston Waldrep threw six strong innings and Michael Harris II broke the game open with a three-run homer to lead the Atlanta Braves to a 7-1 win over the visiting Miami Marlins on Saturday in the first game of a day-night doubleheader.

The Atlanta Braves recalled rookie right-hander Hurston Waldrep from Triple-A Gwinnett to start Saturday's first game of a split doubleheader against the Miami Marlins. Waldrep (1-0) will be making his second start of the season after allowing one run in 5 2/3 innings in a 4-2 win over the Cincinnati Reds on Aug.

Saturday afternoon's matchup between the Miami Marlins and Atlanta Braves drew attention for Jen Pawol becoming the first female umpire in MLB history during the game. However, Jurickson Profar made sure the players on the field drew attention as well with a spectacular leaping catch in the fourth inning.

Jurickson Profar isn’t known for his defense, but he might’ve provided the Braves’ defensive highlight of the year Saturday. In the fourth inning of a 7-1 victory over the Marlins, Profar robbed a homer from Marlins slugger Agustin Ramirez.

Miami second baseman Xavier Edwards, with his batting average over .300, will look to continue his hot hitting when the visiting Marlins play a doubleheader against the Atlanta Braves on Saturday.

Edward Cabrera struck out a season-high 11 and gave up just two hits in pitching the Miami Marlins to a 5-1 win over the host Atlanta Braves on Friday night.
