A train traveling from Washington, D.C. to St. Albans, Vt. struck a pedestrian at about 4:10 p.m. Monday at the Pleasant Street railroad crossing.

The man was seen jumping over a brick wall onto the tracks at the MetroLink Civic Center Station before trying to jump back over the wall and falling, police said.
