LA Mayor Karen Bass came out against deploying federal troops in her city to deal with unruly protests, saying local law enforcement was on top of the situation.

On Monday night, 14 people were arrested for looting and 96 people were arrested for failure to disperse in downtown LA, the LAPD said. There was also one arrest for assault with a deadly weapon, one arrest for resisting arrest and one arrest for vandalism, police said.
