The next big Baldur’s Gate 3 update, known simply as Patch 8, will add cross-play, a photo mode, and 12 new subclasses when it drops in 2025.

Consoles now have a limit of 100 mods in Baldur's Gate 3 due to processing power constraints. Exceeding the mod cap can slow loading times or lead to crashes, affecting cross-save and cross-play. Larian Studios plans to fix the lockout for save files with over 100 mods in a future hotfix.

Larian would like you to know it's still not done with Baldur's Gate 3. The studio has now revealed what's next for the multi-award-winning RPG, with cross-play, a photo mode, and 12 new subclasses all set to launch next year.
