The second major winter storm of 2025 continues to brew and now threatens to drop snow and ice along a 1,500-mile corridor of the southern U.S.

The Weather Channel has named the storm Winter Storm Cora, and it’s expected to bring more days of subfreezing temperatures to northern Florida and parts of Central Florida. The frigid temperatures may be responsible for one death in the Florida Panhandle.

Florida won’t be getting a break from subfreezing temperatures any time soon as AccuWeather meteorologists warn of a second major winter storm that is expected to have the potential for damaging freezes along the central Gulf Coast and the Florida Peninsula between Thursday and Sunday.
