Buffalo, N.Y. — Some parts of Upstate New York already have over 30 inches of snow and the snow is still coming down. Several counties in Western New York and the North Country are under states of emergency due to the snow. The Thruway has been shut down in some areas in western New York.
Here are the latest snow totals from across Western New York
Multiple feet of snow was possible in some spots as a lake effect snow band arrived this weekend. A Lake Effect Snow Warning remains in effect for Southern Erie, Chautauqua, Cattaraugus, Wyoming, and Allegany counties until 7 p.
Snowstorm triggers state of emergency for parts of New York
Near Buffalo, between 10 and 20 inches of lake effect snow is expected by the end of Sunday, according to the Weather Service. The southern part of Erie County, along with Wyoming, Chautauqua and Cattaraugus counties, are predicted to see 2 to 4 feet of snow by Monday night.
