The Lucas County Coroner’s Office has confirmed that Opal Covey, a Toledo fixture who ran for mayor numerous times, has died.

A jury found the woman accused of drunkenly crashing her car into a child’s birthday party, killing two young siblings and injuring several others, guilty on all charges on Thursday.
