Fellow Republican Congressman Ronny Jackson, R-Texas joined Issa in filing the Proposition 50 suit in a court popular among conservatives.

The lawsuit filed Wednesday in the Northern District of Texas alleged Proposition 50, which goes before California voters in a special election on Tuesday, is unconstitutional and "an unprecedented interstate assault on representative democracy.

Proposition 50 is a ballot proposal appearing on California ballots that will determine whether the state will redraw its congressional voting districts to add as many as five Democrat-held seats to Congress.

California Republicans are blaming each other about their overwhelming loss on Proposition 50, the congressional redistricting ballot measure voters approved on Tuesday in an effort to counter President Trump's agenda.
