The Boston Red Sox traded Rafael Devers to the San Francisco Giants, but they do not intend to give up on the season. Could they trade for some stars?

Ahead of his much-anticipated debut with the San Francisco Giants, Rafael Devers' new threads and jersey number have been revealed.

This question hovered around the team as last year’s trade deadline approached, too. In 2024, a middling Red Sox team to start the year found its groove in June, going 21-14 from June 1 through July 14 to close out the first half. That convinced chief baseball officer Craig Breslow to buy.

"We were all excited. We just swept the Yankees. We love our team and instead of being excited, I'm devastated," a fan told WBZ. "It's wild. We have traded Mookie Betts and Devers in the last five years. Our two best players and we got, essentially, nothing in return for either of them."

Few people on Earth can relate to the Rafael Devers trade as well as Mookie Betts, but even he struggled to wrap his mind around it.
