The ordeal began shortly before 5 p.m. when Pelham police officers were in pursuit of a stolen vehicle and its driver.

Two law enforcement officers were injured and all lanes of Interstate 65 in Shelby County were closed due to a vehicle chase Wednesday. According to a social media post from the Calera Police Department, the multi-county, multi-agency pursuit ended in a crash.
