Celebrini was named the NHL's Rookie of the Month for the month of October on Sunday, and added his first-ever First Star honor the next day. San Jose's prized rookie was joined by Second Star of the Week, Vancouver Canucks defender Quinn Hughes, and Third Star, Washington Capitals defenseman Jakob Chychrun, on the weekly honor roll.

San Jose lost its first nine games, eight of them without Celebrini, and has gone 9-6-3 since that rough start. Celebrini has caught fire with four goals and three assists in his last four games.

This came one day after he was named the NHL's Rookie of the Month for November, when he led first-year players in goals (seven) and points (12) in 14 games.
