Ukrainian Foreign Minister Andrii Sybiha hailed a minerals deal signed with the United States as "an important milestone" in relations with Washington on Thursday and discussed the agreement with the European Union's top diplomat.

The Trump administration did not immediately provide details about the agreement, and it was not clear what it meant for the future of U.S. military support for Ukraine.

After months of tense negotiations, the U.S. and Ukraine have signed a deal that is expected to give Washington access to the country's critical minerals and other natural resources.
