The Special Cell of Delhi Police and Gujarat Police arrested five people on Monday in connection with a cocaine drug bust case.

The crackdown aligns with the government's Zero Tolerance policy against drugs and the Nasha Mukt Bharat Abhiyan.

The Delhi Police in two drug busts since 2 October – including what it says is the biggest haul ever – has seized 768 kilos of cocaine worth 7,000 crore. A Dubai-based cartel is thought to be behind the operation and seven people have been arrested thus far with another dozen under the scanner.

This is the second major drug haul in a week in the national capital and suspected to be linked to the earlier incident.

As per officials, the seizure is suspected to be linked with the earlier recovery of 562 kilograms of drugs worth over Rs 5,000 crore from southwest Delhi's Mahipalpur.
