Longtime Vermont politician and four-time Senator Bernie Sanders said his upcoming term will likely be his last before retirement. Sanders spoke recently with Politico, and said that he believes it is likely that his upcoming six-year term in the Senate will be his final one.

The 83-year-old Independent told Politico that this will likely be the end of the road for his political career.

Vermont Senator Bernie Sanders, a leader in the progressive movement, said his current term would likely be his last one in Congress. Sanders, 83, has been a member of Congress since 1991 – first serving as a Representative from Vermont before becoming one of the state’s Senators in 2007.
