Houston is playing Correa at third base for the first time in his career to take over Paredes's spot. Days after the Astros traded with the Twins to bring Carlos Correa back to Houston in order to replace the injured Isaac Paredes at third base, the team offered a pretty big update on Paredes's injury status.

Astros third baseman Isaac Paredes will rehab his right hamstring injury instead of undergoing surgery in hopes of returning before the season is over, general manager Dana Brown said Monday. Paredes sustained what Brown described as a “severe” right hamstring strain in a loss to the Seattle Mariners on July 19.

The Astros' Isaac Paredes has opted to forgo season-ending surgery on his right hamstring and instead will rehab the injury in an effort to return this season.
