The Detroit Lions host the Washington Commanders in the divisional round of the NFL playoffs roughly a year since a few coaching decisions shaped the future of each organization.

The team was bought in 2023 by an ownership group led by Josh Harris and including Magic Johnso n, ending the long and painful ownership tenure of Dan Snyder. The new ownership group brought in a new general manager, Adam Peters, a new coach, Dan Quinn, and plenty of new personnel.

In his first year in Washington, Commanders head coach Dan Quinn has led them to a 13-5 record and the divisional round to face the Detroit Lions.
