The Tasmanian tiger, also known as the thylacine or Tasmanian wolf, is an extinct carnivorous marsupial that once roamed Australia (including the island of Tasmania) and New Guinea.

Researchers from the Tasmanian Museum and Art Gallery in Hobart, Tasmania, have finally found the long-lost remains of the last known Tasmanian tiger, which have been missing for more than 85 years.

It turns out they were hiding in plain sight – at the Tasmanian Museum and Art Gallery (TMAG), in the Australian island state, where they had been unidentified for more than 80 years.
