King County Metro is installing stronger barriers on buses to increase driver safety after a series of assaults.

With continued assaults on drivers and the fatal stabbing of a driver in December, Metro and the union are looking to install heavy partitions that lock.

King County bus drivers are seeking to get a major safety upgrade to better protect them from potential violence while working their routes.

The new barriers are designed to be more secure and durable than the partitions installed during the pandemic.
