Celtics minority governor Steve Pagliuca has agreed to a deal to purchase the Connecticut Sun from the Mohegan Tribe and plans to move the franchise to Boston by 2027, The Boston Globe ‘s Gary Washburn reported Saturday.

Celtics minority owner Steve Pagliuca is buying the Sun for $325 million, putting another $100 million towards a team facility in Boston.

The league still must approve the sale, which will be for a record $325 million, and declared Saturday nine other cities which sought WNBA expansion franchises "have priority over Boston."
