Enrique Tarrio, the former Proud Boys chairman who is serving 22 years in federal prison after he was convicted of seditious conspiracy in relation to the Jan. 6, 2021, Capitol attack, is asking President-elect Donald Trump for a presidential pardon.

Ex-Trump lawyer Ty Cobb claimed Trump’s recent pardons hint at a MAGA plan to extend power beyond 2028, suggesting a possible coup plot.

He also maintained that the federal judiciary and the office of the president were given too much power, and that the treaty-making and taxing powers could allow groups of states to band together to injure or threaten the economic interests of other states. Mason also objected to the document's presidential pardoning power.

Trump commuted the sentences of 14 people by name (members of the Proud Boys and Oath Keepers who were convicted of seditious conspiracy) and gave “a full, complete and unconditional pardon to all other individuals convicted of offenses related to events that occurred at or near the Capitol on that now famous day.
