The search for a woman who is believed to have fallen into a sinkhole in western Pennsylvania is moving into a recovery effort after two days of searching produced no signs of life, authorities said Wednesday.

Pennsylvania State Police along with Pleasant Unity Volunteer Fire Department provided an afternoon update on Elizabeth Pollard, a woman who went missing after falling into a sinkhole and abandoned mine.

The sinkhole appears to have been created during the time that Pollard was walking around, officials said, noting that there is no evidence that the hole was there before she started looking for her cat.
