Dejan Joveljic scored his fifth goal of the playoffs in the 86th minute and the LA Galaxy advanced to the MLS Cup final for the first time since 2014 with a 1-0 victory over the Seattle Sounders in the Western Conference final.

Seeking their first MLS Cup berth in 10 years, things did not come so easily against the Seattle Sounders. It took more than 85 minutes for the Galaxy to unlock Seattle’s organized approach, but Dejan Joveljic got on the end of a pass from Riqui Puig and beat Sounders goalkeeper Stefan Frei to lift the Galaxy to a 1-0 win.

The New York Red Bulls have booked themselves a spot in their first MLS Cup final after a 1-0 win at Orlando City saw them through to the December 7 decider against the Los Angeles Galaxy. Both teams won their respective conference championship games on Saturday, with the Galaxy securing a home ground advantage as the higher seeded team.

Joveljić’s goal came in the 85th minute breaking a scoreless draw, sending the Galaxy to their first MLS Cup final since 2014 in a 1-0 over Seattle.

LA Galaxy will hope to make it to its first MLS Cup final when it hosts Seattle Saunders in the Western Conference final of the MLS Cup playoffs.
