Areas closer to Lake Ontario received more than three-quarters of an inch of ice accumulation, while southern Monroe and Wayne counties saw between a quarter and half inch. The heavy accumulations brought down tree limbs and shut off power for about 125,000 customers on April 4.

Ontario's provincial utility says power has been restored to more than half a million customers four days after an ice storm first moved into the region, but that some hard-hit areas may remain without it until the end of the week.
