As the Trump administration works to implement a “most-favored nation” policy, Lilly said it’s “rebalancing” drug prices to “align” costs across different countries.

Pharma giant Eli Lilly said it is negotiating to raise drug prices in Europe, starting in the U.K. with the weight-loss drug Mounjaro, so that it can comply with the Trump administration’s goal of bringing down prices in the U.S.

Late last month, President Donald Trump issued letters to Lilly CEO David Ricks and to the CEOs of roughly a dozen other large pharmaceutical companies, giving them until late September to cut the U.S. prices of certain drugs or the administration will “deploy every tool in our arsenal to protect American families.”
