First Lady Jill Biden accepted the delivery of this year’s White House Christmas tree from Cartner’s Christmas Tree Farm in Newland, an area impacted by Hurricane Helene.

NEWLAND, N.C. — A tree from Cartner’s Christmas Tree Farm in Newland will be presented at the White House next Monday, Nov. 25. The 20-foot tall tree is much more than a Fraser fir. It stands as a symbol of hope and resilience for western North Carolina after Hurricane Helene.

Several volunteers spent the past week decorating the White House with 10,000 feet of ribbon, 28,000 ornaments, and 165,000 lights. Additionally, 83 Christmas trees are scattered throughout.
