Chennai Super Kings CEO Kasi Viswanathan revealed that MS Dhoni has not yet confirmed his availability for IPL 2025. With the mega auction approaching, CSK hopes Dhoni will decide by October 31.

This shocking development regarding MS Dhoni has been confirmed by none other than Chennai Super Kings (CSK) CEO Kasi Viswanathan.

The IPL Governing COuncil has brought back a rule in which a franchise can retain a player as 'uncapped' if he has not played International cricket in the last five years. Chennai Super Kings are eligible to retain MS Dhoni on the same rule for a much lower price of INR 4 crore.

If MS Dhoni confirms that he will play in the IPL 2025, then CSK will likely retain him as uncapped player. The franchise will need to spend just Rs. 4 crores

The BCCI recently announced the IPL 2025 retention rules, stating that any Indian cricketer who has not participated in any international matches over the last five seasons can be retained as an uncapped player for Rs 4 crore.

Chennai Super Kings have reportedly finalised their five retentions. MS Dhoni will be retained for Rs 4 crore while Ruturaj Gaikwad and Ravindra Jadeja will also stay with the franchise. Dhoni will be retained in the uncapped category.
