C.J. Stroud and Carolina Panthers quarterback Bryce Young shared the practice field at NRG Stadium on Thursday as the Houston Texans hosted the Panthers in a joint training-camp practice. But the morning practice was far from the first meeting for the two young quarterbacks.
On Thursday, the two reunited when Stroud’s Houston Texans hosted Young’s Carolina Panthers for a joint practice ahead of Saturday’s preseason game. The quarterbacks were all business during drills, with both players making some nice throws during the two-hour workout. Afterward, they took some time to catch up and chat.

Yardbarker on MSNCould Sean McVay, Josh McDaniels help Texans' C.J. Stroud bounce back from mercurial second season?
Before Caley joined McVay's staff with the Rams in early 2023, Caley learned under McDaniels and other New England coaches from 2015 through the 2022 season. Of course, legendary quarterback Tom Brady earned six of his seven career Super Bowl rings while playing in McDaniels' offense.
Earlier in the week, the Houston Texans were hit with a heartbreaking injury to tight end Brevin Jordan, who went down with a season-ending knee injury during training camp practice, all less than a year removed from his previous ACL tear from his last campaign, limiting him to only two games played.
2025 Outlook: Stroud took a step back in terms of fantasy production last season. His lack of rushing caps his fantasy ceiling. Nico Collins will once again be the primary target with Caley hoping to improve play calling. The upside is there, but question marks are still prevalent and keep Stroud in the fantasy QB2 range.
Texans quarterback C.J. Stroud's charitable foundation run by his mother held a Back to School event at Lily's Toy Box.
The Houston Texans will need C.J. Stroud to have a bounce-back year under new offensive coordinator Nick Caley if they're to contend in the 2025 NFL season.
