Anita Bryant, 84, a former Miss Oklahoma, Grammy-nominated singer and prominent booster of orange juice and other products who became known over the second half of her life for her outspoken opposition to gay rights,

Bryant was perhaps most well-known for her 1977 “Save Our Children” campaign that painted gays and lesbians as a threat to the country’s youth.

Anita Bryant Dry, entertainer and anti-gay activist, died in December at her Edmond home, according to an obituary submitted by her family. She was 84.
