Sting is considered to be the franchise of WCW. The one man who never left the company, Sting never faltered and remained loyal to the organization that made him a household name.

In October 1994, having been fired by WCW, he sued the promotion for $630,000, but also sued Sting as well. In November 1997, when he returned to WCW, he settled for an undisclosed amount.
